HOLISTIC PSYCHOTHERAPY

"Holistic psychotherapy focuses on healing from a body-mind-spirit perspective, with the emphasis on understanding that each person possesses the inherent ability and desire to be healthy."
– Gerri Framburg

  • Holistic Psychotherapy focuses on addressing the individual’s wholeness, their strong sense of healthy well-being and the reconnection of listening to the guidance of their heart.
  • Holistic Psychotherapists are trained and experienced in the traditional western psychiatric psychotherapy modalities and in addition, have post graduate training and experience in the alternative/complementary therapies. This combination and integration of study, training and experience offers the optimum of beneficial care and treatment of the whole person.
  • Holistic Psychotherapy entails assessing the whole person and appropriately integrates aspects of western and eastern medicines to respond to the unique body-mind-spirit needs of individuals. As part of the therapeutic process, options explored may include seeing your physician for an evaluation for medication, or/and consulting with an alternative MD, homeopath, nutritionist or naturopath. Further resources to support body-mind-spirit healing are: breath work, yoga/exercise, guided imagery, Mindfulness/meditation, groups, therapeutic massage and essential oils.

  • The wholeness of healing is the very essence of Holistic Psychotherapy. Conscious of individual timing and the opening of one’s heart, there is an opportunity to integrate spirituality, as defined by the person, to be a meaningful resource on the journey.

  • Holistic psychotherapy treats the therapeutic relationship from a wholeness perspective, by encouraging a proactive open and honest discussion any time, regarding any facet of the therapeutic relationship or process.

Holistic Psychotherapy and Clinical Social Work
The hallmark of Social Work training and treatment, focuses on “person in situation” - the whole of you. Simply put, this means that your therapist recognizes and develops with you, a full comprehensive treatment plan that encompasses your entire well-being in relationship to self, family, career, community and as a global citizen of planet earth.

Clinical social work is based upon the whole person, with the knowledge and awareness that individuals thrive, not just survive, in direct relationship to the supportive resources surrounding them. People live healthy progressive lives, through the worst of times and the best of times, when they are feeling connected within themselves and their surrounding world.
